With panoramic views of the surrounding Busanga Plains - Shumba Camp allows the visitor to be truly immersed in African wilderness with all the comforts of luxury lodgings. Nestled in a tree island, the camp is set on raised platforms and walkways with large tented suites to accommodate. Twice daily game drives allow the visitor to journey out into the plains and marshlands to seek out one of the many resident prides of lion in the area, or the scampering wild dog packs. Birdlife is abundant with 491 different species to look out for - making it a favourite with birders and photographers alike. Hot air balloon rides are also a favourite allowing an elevated view of the plains game which include puku, lechwe, sable and roan antelope.

Kafue National Park’s Busanga Plains offer a varied habitat with woodland ‘islands’, grassland, hippo pools and papyrus swamp that provide a fantastic habitat for a wide diversity of game. The Camp’s dining, hospitality and accommodations are all top notch giving the visitor a fantastic, fully rounded safari experience.
