Imagine waking to birdsong in your luxurious safari tent with the day dawning and the coming days’ adventures awaiting you - this is the Vumbura Plains experience. Set in the northern Okavango Delta bordering on the Moremi Game Reserve, the camp overlooks a large floodplain, with views out to the surrounding wilderness where plains game roam and the prolific birdlife never ceases to entertain. Days are spent seeking out the varied wildlife on open vehicle game drives or lounging at the camp enjoying the sumptuous meals and pampering massages. With its mix of water and dry land, the area is able to offer a large diversity of wildlife including the marsh loving lechwe and grassland roaming sable antelope. Predators such as lion, leopard and wild dog are regularly seen and night game drives offer the opportunity to spot nocturnal species on the prowl. The cooler winter months offer spectacular game viewing with higher water levels allowing game viewing mokoro and boat excursions. The traditional mokoro canoes sail silently through the water channels allowing for close-up game viewing. These boat based activities give an utterly different perspective of the wilderness.

With its sweeping views out over the floodplain, the camp offers a great opportunity to view game throughout the day from the comfort of your tents private deck and plunge pool or the communal lounge area. At night, the comfortable loungers on the outside viewing deck offer the ideal place to sit back and be entertained by the dancing flames of the campfire and the sounds of the surrounding wilderness.
14 Rooms split between the North and South Camp are some of the most luxurious you will find anywhere in Botswana. Spacious, comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms lead out onto a large decking area where you have a private plunge pool to relax in. There is also a 2 bedroom family suite available.
Children over the age of 12 years are welcome.
