Today after your morning game activities and breakfast, you will be collected from Camp Jabulani for your private road transfer to Londolozi Private Game Reserve.
Londolozi Varty Camp
The heart and soul of Londolozi, Varty has eight chalets and two superior chalets. The campfire has burned here for over 82 years making Varty Camp the symbolic heart and soul of Londolozi. The décor echoes the same tones of the owners private homes and their continuing love affair with the earth.
All rooms have private swimming pools framed by timber decks that overlook the riverine bush. The living spaces are raised off the ground and shaded under a cathedral of trees. The camp has a pleasingly down-to-earth quality and the emphasis on family heritage means that children always have a place at Varty Camp.
Varty Camp is also home to the original Sparta Hunting Camp, our boutique, the Cardio Vascular Room, Massage Treatment Room and our Library. Guests from all Camps are invited to make use of these facilities.
Family Friendly Features at Londolozi:
At Londolozi there has always been an emphasis on family. Over the past century four generations have adventured, dreamed, and discovered here. The bushveld of Londolozi is a wild wonderland, a child’s dream come true, and Londolozi delights in being able to share her secrets with the next generation.
The Londolozi Cubs programme ensures that everyday is filled with fun and fascination; and the ‘young rangers’ gain far more than just an understanding of their role in managing and conserving Africa’s incredible biodiversity. At Londolozi children learn about themselves, other people, and cultures, about building friendships and trust, and about survival in the wilderness – every new skill equipping them for an abundant life.
The Cubs Programme takes place long after the ‘cubs’ leave Londolozi as we encourage all children to read, watch and participate in our ‘Cubs Den Blog’.
Like all good cubs the bush adventure begins in the safety of the Den. The Cub’s Den is equipped to delight your children, with fish ponds to splash around in, Land Rovers to “drive”, campout tents, and an educational centre where wildlife takes centre stage.
Bushveld excursions are guided by the Cub Coach, a dedicated and expert naturalist, who oversees all the children’s activities and can make even dung spitting seem like a palatable idea!
Activities include:
- Paper Mache
- Candle Making
- Baking
- Spoor identification
- Bird watching
